New achievements for Windform materials

4 August 2015
Windform Additive Manufacturing is offering new custom made solutions for the space industry. After passing the outgassing test at NASA, Windform XT 2.0 has passed the ESA screening outgassing tests in accordance with ESA TEC-QTE 7171 (based on ECSS-Q-ST-70-02C).
Metallized coated and uncoated samples of Windform XT 2.0 have been tested in the μVCM facility of the TEC-QTE laboratory at ESA/ESTEC, Noordwijk, Netherlands.
The ESA outgassing tests can be considered passed for both coated and not-coated samples and they respond to the general outgassing criteria based upon the micro-VCM test (as defined by ECSS-Q-ST-70-02C).
The general requirement for materials screening outgassing is RML < 1.0% and CVCM < 0.1%.

Furthermore, Windform XT 2.0 and Windform LX 2.0 samples have been submitted to Vacuum Ultraviolet Light Exposure and have shown negligible erosion.

Important progress has been made in the sector of additive technologies, with the development of Windform materials, expanding the use of these materials for additive manufacturing in all areas in which an insulating, impermeable, highly durable material is required, offering the opportunity of being processed with high precision CNC machining.

CRP Group have transformed into real applications, solutions which until a few years ago were impossible to implement with traditional methods.
